ClearVue Interior is an interior mounted window film and like other clear vinyls, this film is also clear but what makes ClearVue different is, it is perforated. The printing method is the same as any other clear vinyl. Which is to print the CMYK layer first in mirror reverse image. Normally clear vinyl is then laminated to white vinyl to make the inks vibrant. But with ClearVue, because is it is perforated, a white vinyl behind it will prevent people inside the building to see out. Therefore, the only way to get white behind the colour ink is to overprint with white ink. To increase the one way vision effect, it is followed by an overprint of black.
Why mount One Way Vision on the inside of a window? For either of two reasons. Because it prevents vandalism or it is a window which is inaccessible from the outside.
As ClearVue is interior mounted, an overlaminate is not applicable.
WHERE TO APPLY?
- Inside of windows of shops and offices
- Glass doors
- Glass walls inside offices
- Other windows where vandalism is an issue or exterior access to the window is difficult or costly
Please be aware that the colours of the printed image on the film maybe affected by the colour and intensity of any window tinting present on the window. Also be aware that an interior mounted film does not reduce glass reflections.
ClearVue is a monomeric calendered PVC perforated window film. It is clear on the printable side and clear on the adhesive side. ClearVue has a 1.5mm perforation hole. For every square metre of film, 30% of the film has been perforated. The combination of 1.5mm hole size and 30% perforation pattern gives ClearVue a high level of vibrancy and contrast of printed images, which is needed as many building windows are tinted and reflect really well.
ClearVue is available in 1370mm width roll. The liner has two layers, a perforated paper layer bonded to a non-perforated PET layer. Printable in UV-cure ink machines, as multiple layers of ink (CMYK, white then optionally black) need to be laid down. Due to the high ink load, it is not recommended to print on eco/solvent machines.
For ClearVue, we recommend the following:
- Print the CMYK image in reverse/mirror format first, then return to origin and print a layer of white ink.
- Dry apply to a window.
